About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Autumn haze

Name is Ian, but most people call me Chad or Chadders. Born in Leeds and came to the North East to Uni. Never went back and worked 'up North' for quite a number of years. Gave it all up and I am now spending my days travelling, walking and exploring etc - mostly in Northern England. I have a love hate relationship with Northumberland. I hate it when it is grey, cloudy and cold, which makes me not want to explore. On the days when the sun shines I love it, what with the Saxon churches, the lonely moors, the beautiful coast and the exciting wildlife; I just don't want to come home! Regrets - well I was going to lie about my age, talk about clubbing,my love of Pete Docherty and colour my hair like Paul McCartney..... but I never got around to it.I have been to the USA for a couple of long holidays. The first was in 1999 to Colorado,Wyoming (Yes, I went to the Mint Bar in Sheridan!)and Montana. The Glacier National Park was superb. In 2000 I visited friends in Wisconsin and then drove a hire car to North Dakota. Also visited South Dakota and Wind Cave National Park. I took time out to visit Wounded Knee at Pine Ridge, something perhaps more visitors should do. I hope to get back to some of those places one day. I like going somewhere new, whether it be a hill or lane in England to a European City, like Prague, Dublin or Budapest. Although this is a 'Myspace'I do care what goes on in the world. I remember wars and killing as a youngster and it is no different today. What a pity.

Beadnell Harbour

Early spring and a walk up the coast to Beadnell Harbour. Once a hive of activity with Herring boats and fishermen, there are only a couple of working cobles now. The harbour is unusual as it is the o...

Embleton and Beadnell bay

A rare day without rain or cloud and a chance to take the camera out in the sun. It was a nine mile walk and the light just got better and better, finishing with a beautiful sunset. The pictures speak...

A Jolly Up The Coast

There is the odd day when the weather people get it wrong. Suddenly the skys clear and the joys of Autumn appear. Heading towards Alnmouth the views were lovely. To get into the village you have to c...

A walk from Embleton

After the summer we have had up here, I eventually managed to get out in the sun for a walk and record some of it for a blog. It was a walk from Embleton (Northumberland) to old Beadnell and then to B...

Recent Wildlife Pictures

I thought I would post up some recent wildlife pictures. A walk in a Northumberland pine forest produced these fresh fungi - Fly Agaric. Linked of course to Shamens because of their hallucinogenic pro...

GIBSIDE

It is amazing what can be found on your doorstep. Today I went to Gibside, a National Trust property near Gateshead. Here was a quiet little haven in the midst of Tyneside. I had some great views of t...

Here are some more photos from Cyprus. The insect is, I think a Robber Fly. The Lizard is a Pelopponese Wall Lizard. The medieval Church was photographed at dusk as was St Paul's Whipping Post. I...
