About Me

Local bands have a place to perform, the known and the unknown, the wannabees and the stars they know they are.
Huntwood Entertainment, a music production and promotional company going on its 20th year. After years of TV, film and video development they went back to their roots, producing music. For the love of it! With its network of associates, producers, writers, coast-to-coast they've been neutral for a few years, happy with bits of development projects.

Originally formed in Hollywood, CA with a group Philly born, entertainment driven writers, entertainers and producers Huntwood formed in 1986 by founder Michael Koff. Huntwood stands for Huntingdon Valley and Hollywood. Headquartered in the Philadelphia area since 1987, Michael has been the driving force in keeping local talent involved with the BIZ. The mid 90s were a drag, most of us watched and waited for something big to start, while raising our families and paying bills. The passion is back with new opportunities, especially in the music industry, where the large labels eat each other to manage old catalogs, not understanding the new talents or how to keep it fun. Thats right FUN. In more than one occasion the word fun was used. Even in contract-negotiation Michael Koff over states that this is a fun business. Passions run high in the explanation that bands must feel and keep it fun. Fans must see and feel the fun. If and when it stops being fun we move on, lets see the big boys say that and not lose their jobs.

We are a music promotion/an Indie Label, with contacts that run deep in the music hierarchy with more than one major label. Were on the street scouting 8 to 12 bands a week, showcasing them for a fresh audience response. Just outside in N.E. philly, Huntwood books 5 to 8 venues in the region hotels, restaurants, catering halls, warehouses, any place that will let us do all age shows. Other promotion and music managers are taking advantage of the open invitation to show their stuff. Besides special guests that come to see the performances, Huntwood has produced over 300 shows with in the last 4 years, being extremely active in the Philly music scene. Huntwood plans short bus tours out of state to get outside input for the future development of acts. Not every act we showcase are on labels but some are and others soon will be because this is a long-term business and loyalty is key. We've worked with over 280 plus bands and once that continue seem to rise to the top.
Our bands love us even though the business part of the music BIZ is complicated, and even crazy at times. Its ok because we Got the passion , and that's whats going to make Huntwood successful. We march to our own drummer. Now Huntwoods moving up to booking major and multiple venues making deals, putting Huntwood in as a force to be reckoned with. As all age venues get shut down, we have the contacts to keep it going on. We know we could do bar show or book dumps, basements and churches, but putting on a great your in a good environment make the all age fans very appreciative. Large concerts and outdoor benefits are scheduled each season. Our second annual Huntwood Rock2Cure for the JDFR is coming along great soon to be rescheduled to suit the national acts we're now attracting to this event. Which also partners us up with the top radio stations and national sponsors. Look soon for a major center city presents.
