I am here for Networking

About Me

Raised in Los Angeles, I came to Japan in 1993 and somehow ended up staying here. I became a dj thinking I could get by with the music I had...AND of course that didn't happen.
Basically I'm old enough to have experienced the whole new wave thing in real time. At the same time, I'm not old enough to have relly enjoyed the club scene that was going on at the time.
I'm no longer where I started out. I guess I should be thankful for the evolution. I still spin 80's new wave, but I also play a lot of industrial and electro. I've found certain veins of both that can be used depending on the party. I like good music, especially coldly sensual electronic music. For the record, I listen to a lot more music than I play, I'm just not always comfortable mixing certain styles into a set...it'll come eventually.
Constants:
1) I won't accept requests from bands that I don't like.
2) I won't pay for airfare to come to Japan, and you can't crash at my place. No money, and no space.
3) There are more things I want to do in this life than there is time to do them.
4) I erase old messages. They're old. They use up memory. We could make MySpace 10 times faster eliminating two year old ThanX For the ADD/REQUEST messages. Consider it.
5) I DON'T DO iTunes!! Nor do I plan to...unless perhaps you give me money and satisfy my libido. No...I didn't thinks so.
Cheers.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People that are passionate about their art, their music, their personal expression. And pretty much anyone willing to lose money on my insane ideas for boosting the alternative electronic scene (lots and lots of ideas).

And Hatsune Miku...

My Blog

From A to O so far

Once upon a time, there was an annoying 'friend' who left inane comments on my profile page. At first, I thought he was kind to be coming by so often, only to find that it was essentially self-promoti...

The CUT

Since last December, I've been trying to visit all of my "friends" one by one and AT LEAST check on the page. I mean, it really means nothing to leave a comment on Depeche Mode's page..."Like dudes, I...

did i not mention?

I know I didn't succinctly mention it, but what is it with all the rap/reggae/hip hop friend requests recently. With the exception of Bob Marley's greatest hits in a situation that I cannot easily esc...

image is still important

An add request. A picture of a man sitting in front of a microphone with a guitar. He saved me so much time. Image is not everything, but it is an important part of the marketing process. To succeed,...

temporary setback

Ah...my credit card number was apparently hacked from a vender that I was registered with here in Japan. Some of my images are currently down because even though I got a new c...

A La Mode Night 28

Well, I was the opening DJ which is well, not too exciting, but you get a little more freedom to play slower tracks as the guests are arriving. No one is going to dance in the beginning anyway, so you...

something new

Just to let people know two things. 1. I'm not out to get the most friends here at MySpace. It's a networking tool and I like to be able to get in contact with bands as directly and quickly as possibl...

I can erase you

I know you're not going to read this, and you probably didn't even notice that I disappeared from your endless 'friend' list, but you had THE MOST ANNOYING avatar in the WORLD, and your music isn't wo...

A La Mode Night setlist

It seems that I've been busy recently. Possibly. Well it's laways nice to have a gig. I'll be taking some time to get everything in order before taking on anything new, but then again I've never turne...

SetList for The GATE 2/3/07

I had a lot of fun last weekend spinning at The Gate at the J-Pop Cafe in Shibuya. Even though I was in the 'Dungeon Room' which was technically not the Main room, there were enough people dancing and...
