About Me

My name is Simone'. I am a wife and a stay at home mother of two funny little girls. I work part time for my church nursery. I am an avid reader. I enjoy reading, writing, and drawing. I enjoy reading books from the sixties that noone else in the world has heard of. I write blogs at babycenter.com and I have a dream journal at www.xanga.com/simistheworld. Drawing, my first passion, has fallen by the wayside since my children came into this world. I rarely have time for it, but when I do have time for it, it is what I like the best. I have been told I have a very strange sense of humor and I am fine with this, because I know it is true, but I can't seem to do anything about it. I am currently working on my graduate studies. I hope in three years I can become an elementary school teacher. Graduate classes, so far, have been very challenging.

My Interests

ART any kind (pencil drawing, water paint, collage, craft, seed beading, sculpture), my twins, writing my thoughts (no term papers please), old books, new movies, and the theater my lost love. these are my babies This is a collage I did in college called Music in Me, it is composed of a tiny song lyrics. The background is bits of my blog from themeierfamily.net This is a pencil drawing from a photo of me and big sister sitting on our father's lap. My interpretation of Fuseli's nightmare, done in black and white guache waterpaints back in college. This is my interpretation of one of Renoir's Dancers done in guach waterpaint, also. this is a pencil drawing I did of my daughter Rachel not to long ago, expect to see one of Sloane soon this is a sculpture of a cat, I call it "Oscar", God knows why. I did this sculpture for extra credit in my sophmore high school year art class. This a collage I did back in Junior, it won an award and was displayed in the LISD offices for a while. This is a painting I did with my fingers in high school. I had to look in a mirror that was facing me and the paper and paint with my fingers while looking in the mirror. It won an award. here is a picture I drew of me as a child. here is a picture of my husband when we were teenagers, he was laying on the floor laughing here is picture of Susan's foot done in crayon I did this when I was bored and experimenting in abstract here is a caricature drawing of Mark Hoppus, off of the enema of the state album here is a picture of my father done in bleach here is a self portrait of me done back in high school for art class a sketch I did of my mother. this is called "middle of the night voices", cause once I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep and I ended up painting this (it is acrylic) just a flower sketch this is a double sided stand up 3-d thing I did back in junior high. I really like the doll and bear in this. PS. I have been trying to a sketch of Sloane, but I have been having a horrible time getting it to come out. It will be here soon.. I also love White Oleander, The Monday Voices, Summer Lightnening, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series (I can't seem to get through the third book), Jemima J, Mr. Maybe, Carrie, Gerald's Game, Dolores Claiborne, Firestarter, Rose Madder, The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, The Shining, The Cider House Rules, Grapes of Wrath, Cannery Row, Glamour Magazine, The Tillerman Saga, The Bluest Eye, Bridget Jones Diary and Bridget Jones 2, Daddy Long Legs, and sadly enough for my 25 years of old age, The Harry Potter Series.

Heroes:

Jesus because I owe him my salvation, for his patience with me, and for his provisions in my life. My Husband for going to work everyday while I stay home and act at being "Mamama", for being so patient with me, for making me laugh, and for taking care of us.
and Denis Leary for all of his charity work, his awesome summer drama show, and because he makes me laugh.
