About Me

Programmer dude, schitzophrenic musical tastes, theory monger, learned so much I don't know nothing. As an old punk bastard, I'm not afraid to lead with my forehead. As a gentle spirit, I get along best with animals and small children. If that doesn't make sense, well neither do I.

AMERICAN MARTIAL LAW LIFTED!!!

Supreme Court Restores Habeas Corpus in 5-4 decision

Note that, as usual, Antonin Scalia is the #1 enemy of the constitution. Roberts, Thomas, and Alito joined freedom's foes. It was a close thing so we can't let down our guard. Let's get rid of the rest of the Republicans in Congress before they take another shot at our constitution.

This DOES apply to YOU, citizen

I've often heard the lie that US citizens need never worry about being sent to Guantanamo. Unfortunately, your citizenship is gone as soon as you join an organization in armed conflict with the USA. So what does the government have to do to prove you've joined such a group and take away your citizenship? Is there a hearing, or court procedure? Does a judge decide? Nope, according to the US Dept of Justice , "the Executive Branch need not seek a judicial determination that a particular individual has expatriated. It can simply treat that individual as an alien by denying him a right of U.S. citizenship and, if that action is challenged in court, defend that action on the ground that the individual is no longer a U.S. citizen." Anyone in the executive branch can accuse you of being part of a terrorist group, take away your citizenship, and send you to Guantanamo any time they feel like it.

"Sweet Snuggler"

No Skinny Bitches

No, I do NOT have a fat fetish and I know it's uncool to judge someone based on their appearance so let me put it this way. If looking like Paris Hilton is one of your highest priorities and if you think achieving this look would entitle you to special treatment, I won't even pretend to be interested in what you have to say. Fortunately, you should have no trouble finding plenty of people who will. Please move along.

Norm "the Liar" Coleman

"Yesterday the voters spoke. We prevailed," Coleman said Wednesday Nov 6, 2008 at a news conference. He noted Franken could opt to waive the recount. "It's up to him whether such a step is worth the tax dollars it will take to conduct," Coleman said, telling reporters he would "step back" if he were in Franken's position.
Two months later, he WAS in Franken's position and singing a completely different tune: "Something greater than expediency is at stake here," Coleman said. He added: "Democracy is not a machine. Sometimes it's messy and inconvenient, and reaching the best conclusion is never quick because speed is not the first objective, fairness is."
Obviously Coleman was lying through his teeth in his Nov 6 statement. He's proven once again that he'd say anything and do anything to get elected and has no principles of his own whatsoever. Whether or not he prevails, Coleman has earned his place as one of the most dishonest politicians in Minnesota's history.
Got this from Mind's Eye Design. He's cool, buy his stuff! </div

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can surprise and challenge me in any way. Any friend requests should be accompanied by a note explaining what could possibly move you to open communication with a lunatic like me. Otherwise I'll have to assume you're yet another spammer.

Health Care in the USA

There's been a lot of sound and fury over health care in Washington lately but the bottom line is really pretty simple.  Americans are getting robbed blind on health care.  We're paying a lot more tha...

Sympathy for the Right Wing Insurgency

It's really amazing how much people have in common even when their cultures are very different.  In Iraq, for example, a minority tribe, the Sunnis, had been in power for some time and were suddenly d...

A Transparent Solution to the Real Estate Crisis

I think we can all agree that lending money to Wall Street is a bad idea, given the way they've mismanaged the money they already control.  On the other hand, if all the loans in all the banks go...

The Day Freedom Died

There are some who contend democracy died with the voting "irregularities" of 2000 and 2004.  Others believe it died years earlier.  Still others would say that technically we never had a de...
