Danny Marin, aka: Yala, was born in Miami, FL in June of 1990. This Cuban and Honduran gentleman is what some people in the industry would call a quadruple threat. Yala is an extremely gifted and talented self-taught producer, singer, engineer, and songwriter. Working out of his elementary school lab, he started producing music about 6 years ago when he was just 12 years old. The Fight Club Studio, Simply Human, and Cutting Room Studio, along with his very own studio, are just a few of the places where Yala has created many works of art. This is one hard working and dedicated individual who jokes about skipping class in the 6th grade just to use the music lab. The 8th grade was somewhat of a troubling time for this young man due to the fact that his school took away the computer that he’s been using, or as Yala calls it: “Whitey”. Much to his surprise, his mother had bought him his very own computer not to long after, which he still has. Graduating from high school this June of 2009, Yala has already accomplished so much in his life. The song “Funky Fresh” is one of his most successful songs that was a result of his creativity. It was Yala’s love for music and ability to learn how to create and composed works of art that attracted him to the industry. Some of the great advice that people have given him is that he has a gift and should continue what he is doing and not to let money change him. That is exactly what Yala is doing by opening up his horizons and working with not only many up and coming artists but songwriters as well such as J-Coop; in which they have collaborated on about 10 songs. His advice to aspiring artists is “to be committed to your craft and don’t lose the fire if you happen to fall off track.” On his downtime, Yala is like any other young adult. He likes to relax, eat Spanish food and Crunch Berries cereal and kick back with his family. He likes to joke around but is serious when business comes into play. Something people may not know about Yala is that he likes drawing and architecture. Yala is like a butterfly, ready to spread his wings and fly and adapt to multiple genres of music. Watch out for this talented producer on the rise.
