*****The Story of Arvins Garden *****
Arvins Garden was founded in 2001 with Mike Welsh, Dustyn Marsing and Mike McMurry. Soon after, adding drummer Rob Hamilton, the band began developing it's sound with a sample and groove nu-metal sound. The band then brought in Jay Stocks on bass to fill in the low end. In just a few short months, and relentless effort, the band recorded their first album, "The Virgin E.P." and began gigging.
Arvins Garden began headlining shows in record time. The band hit it's first snag with creative tension and differences causing Mike W. to purse other avenues. Shortly after, Arvins Garden added guitar player, Dan Ingles, to the mix. The style began to go in a more melodic direction with sweeping guitar and warm bass lines. The band then recorded its highly anticipated next demo, "Self Titled." They hit the road again, this time branching into New Mexico and Nevada. As you might have expected Arvins Garden ran into it's next snag with the departure of Mike M. The band continued on with one vocalist, Dustyn, now fronting the band solo. Dustyn welcomed the challenge and quickly, and comfortably, found his new roll as an aggressive and entertaining front man. Dustyn and Jay made it a personal mission to demand the attention of their audience and bring their live performance to a professional level. At this point tensions, again, began mounting as the band found their schedule conflicts at an all time high. With Rob and Dan now splitting their time between two project's, rehearsals for Arvins Garden were becoming few and far between. So at this time, in a very bold leap of faith, Dustyn and Jay decided to part ways with the rest of the band, basically revamping the entire project.
Bringing us to 2005. Dustyn and Jay decided to reunite with Mike Welsh and bring back the roots that had helped make the band successful. Very soon after, through an acquaintance the band met Ryan O'Hara and introduced a breath of fresh air to their rhythm section. Next, while putting together the new set list, the band realized that key samples in the songs were missing. AG needed someone with the same never-quit attitude. But it was hard enough to find all the pieces they had. But like most things it was right in front of their eyes, so the next addition would be Dustyn's brother, Josh Marsing, known as DJ Three5. This was the missing link for Arvins Garden. The boys wasted no time writing and putting together a new set list and live show and began gigging and touring extensively, bringing a live show that was more aggressive than ever.
Bringing them to 2007, seeming to be riding an unstoppable wave, Arvins Garden was blindsided when Mike W.decided he no longer wanted to pursue a career in music. In a hurry, he left Arvins Garden. At this point, it would have been easy to throw in the towel. After five years and a series of let-downs at what seemed to be peak times, brinking on success, instead, the band dusted themselves off and kept the vision alive. Through the first part of 2008, the guys kept rehearsing and recorded the very long awaited single, "All This Way," with Jay filling in temporarily on guitar.In February the guys found Adam Peterson who filled the void and made Arvins Garden complete. Which brings us up to speed. The band is now writing new material for the long awaited third release "IN OUR BLOOD", which should be available this spring.
Arvins Garden is also gearing up to hit the stage and begin touring. 2008 is looking bright for the guys as they will be making the biggest push of their carreers for major management and a record deal. So buckle up and get ready for this ride you are not going to wanna miss this!
