Greetings! My name is Miren and I am your typical twenty-something post-college female nerd; and where I lack in physical height I try to amend with my especially potent personality-or so I'd like to believe, anyway. ^_^;
I mostly spend my time reading, listening to music, playing video games, working out, doing Kung Fu, or hanging out with my friends. Music is a very pertinent aspect of my life, and I am always aspiring to continue to lose myself in sound, when possible. ^^; I am extremely fascinated by a variety of cultures and languages, and greatly enjoy traveling, especially to Europe (and I hope to visit Japan soon). Do not be fooled, however~I am not very feminine at all, and most people are quite unprepared for the vulgar filth that tends to spew from my mouth in copious amounts. Despite everything, I love to enjoy life and have fun.
My friends and family are a very integral part of my life. I love my family and although they are far from perfect (whose is?) I love and care for them all very deeply. A majority of my closest friends have been with me for many years, and I would not have it any other way. I can take quite a bit of time to warm up to people, and require a large amount of personal space. I consider myself to be a fairly insightful and intuitive person, which is probably why I have chosen to pursue a career in the mental health field. On the downside, I am occasionally scatterbrained, arrogant, stubborn and entirely too self-criticial; but at least I can admit that freely.
I recently graduated from the University of FL with a B.S. in Psychology; and minors in both Japanese and Anthropology. I am currently taking a couple years off to work in the substance abuse/mental health field before I head to graduate school. Some day I hope to get my doctorate in Clinical Psychology and become a therapist for a living; and live in an elegant house with 2 beautiful cats (and a husband, of course, if he proves himself cool enough).
