About Me

My name is Elizabeth Tate Johnson. I write under the pseudonym of E. Tate Johnson and am a proud member of the Romance Writers of America. I live in Northern Virginia with my three children and my wonderful husband. They are my rock, my life, my soul.I was born on November 6, 1969 in a small mountainous town in Upstate New York. Being a quiet child with a vivid imagination, I spent many hours dreaming of far away places. I have always been fascinated with the human mind and the darkness that lies within. A large part of that reasoning may be due to events of my life and some of the people who have crossed my path. Whether it was an apparition of their prejudices or my own, I have taken those experiences and used them as a light to guide me.I am the sixth child out of seven children of a strangely mixed family. I have two brothers. They bookend each other. They are separated by a twenty year age gap with five sisters in between. I’m the youngest girl. My father, a black man, was 58 years-old when I was born and Mom, American Indian and white was 33 years-old. I was born in an era when mixed relationships were frowned upon but the crazy parents that I had didn't care and above that, they became Jehovah's Witnesses! OY! Can you feel me people?! I've lived a very colored life. I wouldn't change a minute of it though. It makes a girl think, wonder and hope. Three ingredients that make for a hell of a lot of inspiration for someone who wants to be a writer. My mantra ... Life is interesting. Bring it on.
