About 6:15 a.m. on Nov. 13, police responded to a 911 call reporting a gunshot and man down in his front yard at 623 N. Broadway Ave., according to Park Ridge police, who arrived to find Dhamer, 48, dead on the sidewalk.
Dhamer died of three shotgun blasats to the head and face, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Police said the shooter, wearing a black ski mask, fired a shotgun and struck Dhamer three times as he left for work in the morning, leaving him dead on his front lawn.
Dhamerâ„¢s wife, who was inside the house at the time of the shooting, told police she heard a conversation -- not an argument -- just before the blasts, according to Park Ridge Police Chief Jeff Caudill. The shooter fled and remains at large.
Park Ridge police initiated a search for a man wearing a black mask and black jacket, carrying a shotgun after Dhamer's body was found.
But five hours later, police called off their manhunt and will not confirm if they have anyone in custody. Not even the Park Ridge mayor, who showed up at the scene, could explain why. "I'm sure our police have a reason for doing that. They're very thorough," said Mayor Howard Frimark.
Police issued a forensic sketch of a suspect, a male in a dark-colored ski mask, but said no further information was available. And while it is believed the suspect fled in a vehicle, no vehicle description was available.

The Park Ridge police still have no suspects in custody. The family of Gerald Dhamer have a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of $25,000, according to the release.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It is a great car even though it is heavy. I got the basic mods on but, after I get the Apex'i SAFC II, I am really starting to get to the end of the minor mod process, or at least finished what I want to do. My next step is to drop it, throw a kit on that has room for an intercooler and turbo it. Now don't go driving around town looking for an eclipse all turboed out with a full kit on. When I say next I mean when I happen to collect and save around $6000 - $7000. Right now I about at $700. I'll update as my savings drive continues.
