Let The War Horns Blare!

About Me

Apotheosys n.(1) Ascention to divine status; deification (2)A glorified ideal

Hailing from Charlotte, N.C., Apotheosys officially got underway in 2002, with a line-up centered around guitarists Ethan Lane and Ramsey Alteria( ex-Prelude to Damnation). Based upon a vision of fusing the most dark and brutal aspects from both death metal and black metal into an integrated blasphemous fury, Apotheosys was formed with the intention of carrying the unholy power of pure metal into the farthest reaches of musical extremity. Stunning melody, gut-wrenching brutality, incredible speed, unrelenting technicality and thought-provoking lyrical content combine to form a sound straight from the most unfathomable reaches of the human psyche.

After completing the initial line-up with bassist Rob Hughes and drummer Zac Pearson( both ex-Benighted), Apotheosys quickly began to refine an original sound and an undeniable live show. In addition to sharing the stage with such notable acts as Nile, Vital Remains, Mortician, Hate Eternal, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, and Opeth, as well as countless legions of their underground brethren, 2005 saw the release of 5 song EP The Fall and the Triumph, the band's first official recording, on Profane Records. An undulating mass of cacophony and seething rage, the EP served to garner the band much recognition and further solidify its place amongst the most uncompromisingly extreme groups of the burgeoning metal scene of the southeastern U.S.

Going through a series of line-up changes that saw the departure of original members Ramsey and Rob, Apotheosys soon acquired the talents of guitarist Trent McCall( ex-Darkmoon) and bassist James O'Neal( ex-Prelude to Damnation), one of metal's most sickeningly talented bass players. Losing none of its original vision and drive, Apotheosys continued to amaze audiences live while supporting The Fall and the Triumph. Always striving to further refine and push the limits of their sound, the band soon set about dividing its time between live shows and preparing further musical carnage for an upcoming full-length album.

Prior commitments and scheduling conflicts forcing yet another line-up change upon the band, guitarist Trent amicably split with the Apotheosys camp to pursue other projects. Filling the vacant position with guitarist Tod Ellis( ex-Godking), Apotheosys prepares to soon complete its long anticipated full-length release, promising to once again carry the torch of utmost metal extremity to unforseeable realms of the aural abyss. Prepare to behold the ultimate sonic decimation of Apotheosys!
