About Me

This page is a place to reminisce about the F-19 days. It's a place to post old pictures and old stories about old times and old friends.
Band Bio:
Flight 19 was formed in the summer of 1996. Jimmy Brady and Ryan Walsh decided to start a band and first recruited Danny Newell. Next they asked Andrew Marsella to join. The lineup was Jimmy on drums, Danny on guitar, Andrew on bass and Ryan on vocals. On the 4th of July, the band practiced for the first time in Jimmy's basement. As they started to write, their first songs took on a funky feel. Their sound eventually changed and Flight 19 became known as a ska band. They played shows with Envy for Plaid, Boundless, Kensington, No Authority, Supergrub, Little League, Dr. Fever, 5point0, Lucky Number 7, The NC Thirteens, The NidS and the Beefcakes.
They added horns to their songs and recruited "Flounder" on tenor sax and Gene Dennis on trumpet. Gina Ochs played keyboard for a brief stint in the band. As the horn players came and went, the core four members remained and evolved. Flight 19 recorded 4 times during their more than 6 years together.
By the end of their tenure, the music had become more pop-punk. They changed their name to Westbrook Confidence, which was short-lived and then finally to Weatherfield. By this point the band had decided to part ways. They played their last show together at a benefit concert for Christy McCall at Holy Innocents Parish Hall in November 2002. Danny is now an owner of a recording studio in Harrisburg, PA called The Green Room . Andrew is in the U.S. Marine Corps and lives in Texas with his family. Jimmy and Ryan kept the Weatherfield name and started a new band, this time with Jimmy playing guitar.
