'Garageland isnt about hearing fully formed, mainstream-ready tunes. Sometimes we like to hear rough and ready, vile, aggressive and lo-fi rock that makes us smile. Why does Not List make us smile? Because its fuzzed to the max, honest and brutal - its youthful, energetic and sounds as if they have thrown every last ounce of themselves into what they do. THAT is what music is about and THAT is what we look for. Sometimes its hard to define what makes a band most likely to 'make it', whatever that means these days but so what? Technically, Fugazi never made it because they didnt sign to a major label and sell millions - they're still the most important band of a generation. We're not saying Not List are the next Fugazi, but they sound just as determined to make music they love and that's all that matters really.' Playmusic PICKUP
