About Me

My ResumeMusically inclined since he was 3, IllaChyld (Vincent Douglass) is riding in the seat of destiny. Born into a family that is musically gifted, IllaChyld latched on to music very early in his life. His grandmother was a singer and a accomplished pianist for the church his family attended (Second Baptist). His aunt was nothing different and is a strong reason why he does what he does today. He fell in love with classical and gospel music at 5 and recieved his first keyboard at 7. At the same time he started taking piano lessons, but due to lack of funds, he was only able to take lessons on and off until he was 11. At 12, he started making his own beats with a casio keyboard, a tape recorder, and a boom box. At 13, he joined his middle school marching band and was a member untill his senior year at high school. During this time, he was inspired to rap by witnessing his older brother rock a crowd at a performance. IllaChyld loved to rap and was getting increasingly better at it. That is until he ran into his mentor and cousin Blade, a well-known DJ/ producer in his area. Blade taught IllaChyld how to use equipment that was being used by everyone in the industry. Putting rapping to the side, he dove head first into producing. Gaining valuable experience from working with different artist in the area, IllaChyld made his mark as another producer on the rise. He also had the opportunity to work in former NFL pro star Aaron Beasely's studio in Jacksonville, Fl, gaining more knowledge about different types of equipment and experience. After a short break from music to tend to his family, IllaChyld got back on the road again, hooking up with hometown friend J.A who was living in Atlanta striving to be heard as a Hip-Hop mcee. There, IllaChyld was introduced to DJ Buu(Legion Of Doom DJ). J.A was using his studio to record his projects. And with the lack of up-to-date equipment, IllaChyld was still able to make great sounding music. But due to the lack of funds, IllaChyld returned home to regroup. 2 years later, IllaChyld returned to back to Atlanta, this time armed with the Triton Extreme and 3 months of Pro Tools recording under his belt. During the next 365 days, IllaChyld was on the grind like never before. Working with dozens of artist, IllaChyld has established himself as a legit Hip-Hop producer on the rise from the infamous Westside of Atlanta. Taking advantage of the connections established by DJ Buu who now works at the strip club, Magic City, and thru word of mouth, IllaChyld is next in line for greatness. While juggling producing and engineering duties at Down -N- Da Hole Studios, he also manages 3 acts from his own label (WestSyde Gutta Boiz, A-Game, Primo Brown). Booking shows and networking with all types of people, IllaChyld is solidifying himself as a well rounded, easy to talk to, business man, able to relate to anyone he bumps into.
