A document, a monument, a footprint in the sand. A small token has been left by three travelers whose lifetimes miraculously converged for a moment, only to fall back among the currents of memory. This story, of a frienship that quietly blossomed and faded amongst the tumult of humanity, provides a fitting backdrop for the six songs of Sin Fronteras.
The precarious compositions belie a more subtle, powerful depth. At times the songs seem to end even before they begin. Grounded in a minimalist structure, the spacious progessions build tension without coming to a clear resolution. Bittersweet lyrics, verging on the edge of desperation, serve to reinforce this notion. Yet, underneath this dynamic there is a resolve that keeps these peices from toppling over into the void; a hint to the type of strength that exists only when the human spirit is pushed to its very limits but manages, somehow, to carry on.
