I have lived in Rhode Island my whole life and to be honest, can't imagine living anywhere else. The summers are great. For the most part I live a simple life...work Mon-Fri and play on the weekend. I have a small, but very dedicated and much appreciated group of friends. Hanging out with these friends is great because we can have just as much fun staying in watching a DVD as we would going out to a club to see a live band and have a few beers. I love movies (see my entry on movies) and am really into local tribute bands. My favorite place to see bands is at JR's Fastlane at the Mardi Gras Multi-Club in Cranston. Its a great place to go because they attract great local bands, have an awesome staff and attract a decent group of people (I have yet to see a fight there). Some of my favorite local bands are The Hype, Empty Bottle, Dacoda, Aquanett, Chase, Fortune, Promises, Krankenstein, Separate Ways, Kick, DV8, Half In The Bag, Dookie, Bad Boys, Outnumbered and Something Else (R.I.P. Paul, you will be missed). I love Christmas and Halloween and every year try to set up something in my yard for the trick-or-treaters (check out my pics to see what I mean). I actually used to do Rhode Island's largest yard haunt but it got so large that it got out of control. I did it for 13 years straight and though it was alot of work, it was also alot of fun. What I do now is GREATLY scaled down. I also love decorating my house for Christmas. I love to exercise too...in particular walking. Jamestown is a great place to take walks...it's quiet with alot of nice scenery and the people are really nice. In addition to my full time job working for a masonry supply company (I am in charge of dispatching deliveries as well as purchasing and website design) I also get hired by the elementary schools and libraries in RI and MA to do presentations on invertebrates (insects and arachnids) for the science classes and summer reading programs. I really enjoy doing this and this is how I got the nickname of the Bug Guy. During the long winter months I also put together insect displays to sell on eBay. During the spring through fall I spend alot of time gardening and I have a greenhouse that I raise butterflies and moths in by the thousands in a predator-free environment. Local species are then released back into the wild. I am very much an animal lover and currently have one cat (Lily) as well as all of the creepy crawlies I bring with me to my presentations. Over the past few years I have also really gotten into digital photography. I take alot of pictures in my greenhouse of not only the flowers but of the butterflies themselves (many examples are in my pictures section).
My Interests
I'd like to meet:
I am always interested in meeting new people, especially the people I grew up idolizing...people from the bands I listened to and the movies I watched.
