At the corner stone of who I am is my foundation known as respect. It is my belief that respect is a two way street. It is often earned, rather than just being doled out.I'm the sensual yet earthy type of individual. I'm a down home girl.My family and friends are most important to me.When it comes to going in to the city- I enjoy dressing up for a night on the town. But as soon as the event is over I strip my clothes off and get into a comfortable pair of shorts and a t-shirt.I love writing books for children, a little poetry, and short stories. I find I am motivated to write when I am near water- the ocean has the best effect on me.I've done my share of water skiing and I love fishing. What I like best about the beach- hmmm...., I'd have to say would be closing my eyes and listening to the waves crash and rise onto the shore. Feeling the sun against my skin and the sometimes gentle breeze that would entice my senses. I will play water volleyball or some type of water game if it is offered. As for the shore- either sun bathing or building sand castles.I love camping however, I seldom get to do it anymore. I love being in the outdoors and taking the dogs along and I love the aroma of coffee brewing, and forgive me but the smell of bacon cooking in the morning.Artistically speaking- I do have a creative side and would like to take up welding. Why?, do you ask.... simply put- I love wind chimes and would like to start creating some of my own pieces. I also enjoy picking up wood along the beaches and shorelines. You never know what idea can pop into your head for its many uses.I endeavor daily to run with my dogs or taking long walks with them. As a general rule I will go with them six times a week. Whether it is in the canyon (which by the way is about ten minutes from my house), or at one of the various city parks. I also have a tendency of running them in my neighborhood. However, that tends to attract a lot of children who want to pet them. Which by the way is not conducive to keeping my heart rate up lol. I like sweating when I work out- why?, it makes me feel alive.I also enjoy walking in the early morning hours when the sun is just getting ready to rise. There's the aroma of coffee beginning to brew and the smell of freshly baked breads from the local bakeries, and sometimes the scent of a light rain on the lawns and the birds chirping while greeting each other for the new day.My favorite season would be Autumn- I am in awe- the smell of freshly crushed leaves in the early morning. The vivid splash of colors- red, gold, green, and brown. It's the time of season when you can put on a sweatshirt while running and then take it off and still feel comfortable. I enjoy pausing to watch children engage while piles of leaves are being raked together. Thus, allowing them to make a leaping effort to jump into the piled leaves. I also enjoy the feel of the crisp morning air against my body. Indeed- life is worth living! My favorite metal is silver. If I were to describe myself- I have a sense of humor and at times can have uncontrolled outbursts of laughter. I am an open book and believe in sharing my heart, my opinion, and my life. I am warm, compassionate, creative, loyal, sentimental, strong, independent at times, enduring, occasionally emotional, understanding, demanding, forgiving, cantankerous, challenging, and a nurturer. I believe I have the patience that is needed in relationships and have the patience to teach. When I feel the need to get some space between myself and the stresses of everyday life- I choose to go scavenging for bark along beaches or I find going to antique stores soothing and browsing around in flea markets- opens up my mind for new projects.I find cooking not only enhances the sense and brings people together but it also allows the opportunity for each of us to share our thoughts, our pallets, and our hearts.I find that when others cook for me it gives me a chance to see what their capable of. I find home cooked meals are more personal and when you get a group of people in the kitchen swapping recipes and an assortment of tantalizingly taste morsels and good cheer- there's no better way to end your stressful day.I prefer home-made gifts over store bought. Again, I feel it takes more thought and preparation when involving yourself with others.I love earthy colognes and perfumes. One of my favorites is Dolche' Cabana's Light Blue.I am confident enough that I don't have to wear makeup. I will at times put on a hint of lipstick or a little mascara. On rare occasions I have been known to splash it on for big events.I spent a majority of my life getting to know myself and have been recovering from the mistakes I've made in my past. Now... I am reconnecting with those individuals who make a difference in my life, old friends, old flames, old acquaintances, and new friendships. I believe in cementing relationships with those I love.I've been fortunate enough to have some friends that have been in my life since I was eighteen- and I have also had the fortune to find some friends thanks to Myspace that I knew back when I lived in Mariposa, and San Francisco California during my teens.I am in the process of locating and or searching for those individuals who made an impact on my life- who not only helped me to grow, to fall in love, to accept, to challenge, to forgive, and to draw strength from during my formidable years. As for my temper- I am very passionate. I can voice my opinion with grace or I can choose to speak my mind. When my heart has been wounded- I have been known to get into the car and take a long drive and yes, the music would be up loud. Sometimes I try to out run my thoughts and if that doesn't work- I go fishing. When I am feeling playful- you can expect a water balloon fight or something fun involving go-carts. I have also been known to sing- to anyone and everyone at any time or any place.I love to take bubble bathes with the lights off and some scented candles to set the mood. During that time I listen to Opera or Michael Buble' and add a nice glass of wine or two.Favorite alcohol- Tequila, or wine, and always beer with pizza. As far a motherhood goes- we owe it to our families to be a sounding board when we're needed and dole out advice when we see a red flag. But, not so much that we wedge ourselves between people.I always wanted a large family- that wasn't in the cards. I had a miscarriage when I was twenty one. It took 10 years before Midori came along and I was lucky enough to give birth to her. After I married Bradley Darling we went through fertility specialists and then I had two more miscarriages. It just wasn't in the cards. Bradley brought to the marriage Linde, Andrew, and Zach. However, Linde is the only one of the kids that stuck around.During the seventeen years I've been with Brad we adopted or rather they adopted us. Brett, Bobby, Ron, Tito, Tim, Buddy, Sarah, Theressa, Tia, Mia, Rawlinn, Nikki, Droopy, Chico, Gypsy, Amanda, Holly, Kelli, and Britta... and the list goes on.
