About Me
A new movement in southern Hip Hop has begun. With their infectious brand of production and unadulterated love of music, BigYO (Marrio Marshall) and Rico (Elirico Marshall) are set to introduce their innovative sound to the masses via Marshall Law Productions, and rest assured they won’t be deterred in their mission.Hailing from Memphis, Blackhaven to be precise, the two brothers have been honing their craft for years, inspired by the soulful sounds of legendary Memphis artists like Isaac Hayes, Al Green and Sam & Dave. Mixing the classic sounds they grew up listening to with the snappy percussion, grinding bass-lines and syrupy strings perfected by artists like Eightball & MJG, Tela, T-Mixx and Slice T, they have created a sound that’s unique and familiar, refreshing and edgy.Over the years they’ve worked with numerous artists including the Yin Yang Twinz, the Outlawz, Mr. Mike, Thorough, Sammy Sam, Indo G, Lil Blunt, Ghetto Mafia, Tommy Wright III and Tom Skeemask among others. With the release of their mixtape, Legal Hustlin’ Vol. 1 in September 2005, a gritty yet street intelligent foray into southern underground Hip Hop music, they distinguished themselves from the slew of producers currently on the scene. Armed with all original production and guest appearances by southern vets, Mr. Mike, Thorough and Indo G, the mixtape has undoubtedly left a lasting impression upon listeners, garnering praise from national publications like Rolling Out urbanstyle weekly.Looking to further establish themselves as musical forces in the game, BigYO and Rico are preparing to release Legal Hustlin’ Vol. 2 and continue to work with a plethora of diverse artists. The two are also currently in the process of scoring two independent films, further enhancing their musical catalogue. Bottom line: Be prepared for the takeover.
