Welcome to the Winter 2009 edition of the internationally popular LVS Memorial My Space Site. Oh wait, he's still alive? Ok then, if those rumors are indeed true -- and we'll check with Snopes just to make sure -- then here is the official LVS bio, updated earlier in the year of Freedom, 2008, for your reading pleasure in 2009:Lee Valentine Smith is a writer, artist, photographer, musician, historian, pop culture guru, poet, scholar, former President of the United States, ironing board cover and bullshit detector. In his current state as a human, he has been involved with nearly every aspect of the music industry, yet he remains fiercely independent in his allegiances. From band management to press relations to the design and execution of album art and posters, the grizzled – and yes, sadly, jaded – Smith has been an active participant in the Atlanta and Athens music scenes. As a guitarist/vocalist, he’s banged on his much-maligned Rickenbacker 360 and vintage Supro dual-tone guitars and experienced the *ahem* “glamorous†side of the music world in (mostly uncalled for) on-stage performances with (otherwise talented) musicians at a variety of venues. The Star Bar, The Earl, Smith’s Olde Bar (no relation), Eddie’s Attic, the Inman Park Festival and even the massive Music Midtown festival have all served as platforms for his raging ego. The youthful (for his advanced age) Atlanta native has chronicled music happenings since the early ‘80s for a slew of publications. From 1999 until 2008, he was a regular contributor to Creative Loafing. Goodbye, sad waste of paper. His passions include garage rock, pop, country and comedy albums of the ‘60s, ‘80s new wave and punk and, of course, The Monkees. He has met all of his heroes except any Beatle (living or dead), Bob Dylan, Cher and Madonna. He really doesnt give a shit what you think about him. So get a life away from the Internet and go make something happen in the real world!
And yes girls, he’s single!!!
