I love almost all music, music that says something worthwhile, either vocal or instrumental. A few favorites: Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Tori Amos, Norah Jones, Kaki King, Nina Simone, Miles Davis, classic reggae, Sublime, G. Love & special sauce, Outkast, Tosca, Thievery Corporation, Black Coffee, Soul Coughing; SONGS THAT REMIND ME OF MY DAD - Janis Joplin (Me and Bobby MacGee), The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, The Eagles.
Honestly, movies are like sleeping pills for me, no matter how good they are.
I don't really watch it
I mostly read non-fiction. I feel that if I have time to read, I should be learning from it. My most recent book read is An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore....very scary. I also read a lot of art books...a really good one Vitamin D, a book of Drawings...incredible talent. Art and Intimacy by Dissanayake, Art as Experience by Dewey, After the End of Art by Danto, Air Guitar by Dave Hickey, I could go on and on.....then classics of course, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marques, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, The electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenace by Pirsig.....what else? i'll update as I think of them
My parents, my brother and my friends who get me through everything. I look up to them for guidance, strength, and perspective.
