About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.1Robert Dunbar is the author of the supernatural thrillers THE PINES and THE SHORE, both of which achieved extraordinary levels of critical acclaim. Reviewers have called THE PINES a “masterpiece” and “a classic of modern horror,” and THE SHORE has been praised as “one of the best books to come out of the horror genre in years.” He has also contributed fiction to genre publications like Cemetery Dance, Dark Wisdom, Inhuman, Bare Bone, City Slab: Urban Tales of the Grotesque, Apex Digest of Science Fiction and Horror and The Edge: Tales of Suspense. But horror has only recently become the principal focus of Dunbar’s career. As a film, theater, dance and literary critic, he has penned articles for publications as diverse as Art & Understanding, Cineaste, Dance Magazine, On Stage and Writers Digest. Both his mainstream fiction and his poetry have appeared in scores of literary journals, including the internationally acclaimed Descant. Several of his plays have been produced in regional theatres, and one of them – the comedy BATS – was published in book form. Dunbar has also written and produced for public television and has scripted programs for The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, HGTV and the Fine Living Network. He has been a guest on a wide variety of television shows, including ABC’s Scariest Places on Earth and The History Channel’s Weird US. Paperback editions of THE PINES and THE SHORE will soon be released by Leisure Books, and MARTYRS & MONSTERS – a collection of his short fiction – is forthcoming from Delirium Books. Dunbar’s current projects include a nonfiction book and a film script, as well as a new novel.www.DunbarAuthor.com Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | Classifieds
