Thérèse - The Tall Woffle

Do I scare you? No? Then I'd better try harder...

About Me

Right, that old thing I had on here was very ancient and didn't all apply anymore. So CHANGES!!! Like there has been in my life the last year methinks. Bit of a shite year, was ole 2007, but there we go, you keep going and you get through it. It's amazing how much music can help, the music of other people, eg, E&OS, thanks for putting up with me, Mikki, thanks for having such an amazing voice, and The Heathers, thanks for being an amazing new discovery for me (although I should have found you ages ago!). And then music I do myself, the opera, the classicalness, playing the piano for hours on end, giving you time to think, to calm, just to keep living. Music is amazing, but now I'll shush ;) My Loxley lovlies, Ella, Leanne, Heather, Lizzie and Clara - it's awesome having such great friends, I look forward to our house next year, I think the mud wrestling lesbian acts will be attracting a lot of people to our abode :D And to Suzo, Spaz and Anneka - You're the best, even if you don't visit me enough! Right, done the customary, vaguely emo thing, back to Facebook for me! :D Come find me there, it's much more fun...xXx

My Interests

Stuff.
This amuses me. Its quite a famous Belfast poem about my grandad and great-uncles.

the coin
It aint’ the name, ain’t the fame,
That keeps us Smyth’s to the fighting game;
It ain’t the love of being a champ,
That I’ve a tin ear, and Gerry a damaged lamp.
It ain’t for the first of the crowds applause,
That we donned the Mitts – it was just because we needed the coin.

When our heads made a dent in the canvas floor,
You could hear the crowd at the ringside roar,
With out faces covered with blood and sweat,
They’d see us killed for a dollar bet.
But what was the thing that made us crawl,
From out tired feet block and stall?
When the last punch puts us clean to sleep,
What’s more – we had wives and kids to keep –
And we needed the coin.
