Wow, list my interests...most of them are art or music related; although, I seldom find myself doing any art any more. My real job in the real world seems to take up my time and zap my motivation. I have a perpetual promise to myself to "do more art" - but don't we all have similar intent when it comes to the things we want to do; but don't push ourselves hard enough to do them? Anyway, I digress...my interests are pretty diverse - art...music (listening and playing - I play several instruments)...theatre...drawing on my etch-a-sketch...reading...writing...karaoke/singing...playin
g stick with my dogs...driving in my jeep...thunderstorms...making people laugh...watching tv...friends...The Sims...photography...my girlfriend...building stuff...watching The Food Network...cooking...camping...movies...mexican food...water (I've never seen the ocean - but I will)...cuddling with my girlfriend...going to art shows...acting silly...life.
Your Summer Ride is a Jeep
For you, summer is all about having no responsibilities.
You prefer to hang with old friends - and make some new ones.
What's Your Summer Ride?
In a Past Life...
You Were: An Insane Undertaker.
Where You Lived: Cyprus.
How You Died: Suicide.
Who Were You In a Past Life?
It is interesting that Dali should paint me, since he is one of the people that I'd like to meet. I would also like to chat with Van Gogh or Da Vinci. Da Vinci's technical drawings indicate one of the most genious of minds.
Who Should Paint You: Salvador Dali
You're a complex, intense creature who displays many layers.
There's no way a traditional portrait could ever capture you!
What Artist Should Paint Your Portrait?
This is always a tough one. Right now when I'm driving I go back and forth between the new Enya CD and the new Martina McBride. I don't listen to as much music as I used to, but it really does depend on my mood. I wish I had more time to listen to new stuff. There are, of course, my old favorites: Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan, Shelby Lynne, Kelly Willis, Emmylou Harris, really old Linda Ronstadt recordings (not the Spanish albums), Muse, and Garbage are all great. I really like a variety of different styles except really hard rock and soft jazz. There is just not enough time in a day to listen to all of it.
My most recent visit to the theatre was to see "Imagine You and Me". It was a cute movie - not Oscar material; but I enjoyed it nontheless.I really like anything scary. Not so much the gore - although I'll watch those, too; but the more it gets into your head, the better. As far as comedy goes...anything by John Waters - "Serial Mom" is one of my favorites. Oh, and I cannot forget Tim Burton. Believe me, I will be there to buy "Corpse Bride" as soon as it hits DVD...and that is very soon!Other movies that I really like are "The Notebook", "A Room With A View", "Babette's Feast", "Chocolat" and so many more. Also, I'll watch anything by Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron - but who wouldn't? Not only are they both hot, I think they're amazing actors.
I do still like Will & Grace as far as sitcoms go, but don't get to watch it much. I am also hooked on all of the Law & Order shows. SVU is my favorite, though. I can't seem to get enough of them. I'm not big on most reality tv but, when I can I make a point to turn on American Idol. I prefer the early episodes each season when they show all the really bad auditions - now that is funny! Mostly though, I find my television tuned to the Food Network. I can make any meal in 30 minutes thanks to my new friend, Rachael Ray! Really, I can! And, to be honest, I am amazed by the competitions where they create all the food sculptures. I have not yet attempted those yet!
Currently am reading a book of short stories by O Henry. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy his writing. I was unpacking boxes of books yesterday and found so many that I want to read again and plenty that I have that I've never even opened. Only to find the time. Some of my favorite books include: Harold and the Purple Crayon and The Selfish Giant - yes, children's books. Also, I have read, and thoroughly enjoyed, all of the Harry Potter series and can't wait for the next one to come out. Others I really liked: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Of Mice and Men, The Tempest, the Belinda books by Anne Rice, Wicked, Flaming Iguanas, and too many others to list.
