Face of Fear began taking their first steps at the beginning of 2003 when Luciano Googhy Robibaro and Paolo Doctor Bianchi; bass & guitar respectively, took advantage of the time-off for soul searching period of the (now former) band; Arteria. They began working on some riffs, releasing all their visceral passion for death and thrash metal. During this first phase, they received aid from a dear friend, Marco Bonham Gazzelloni; drummer with an opposite taste in music but endowed with a great ear and technique. All takes off when during the first months of 2004 Cristian, Lucianos little brother, joins fresh out of school as drummer of the band, with a fierce and firm position of selling. The first pieces begin to take shape, holding true to the insignia of thrash metal with death running through its veins. And its at this same moment that the name of the group is born from an idea from Googhy Luciano FACE OF FEAR!!! For total completion to occur, only a voice that could give the pieces the definitive mark was lacking. And it is at this point, around summer of 2004, that Mauro Guarnacci; a great friend of the group, with a variegated experience in some local groups and with an endless talent for improv and experimental tone, fused with the guttural growls of Googhy. Well after a long and extenuating trial in the various rehearsal studios of the province and some evenings playing live, the long awaited first demo was recorded and mixed during the months of November and December of 2005 in Norma, by our friend Sandro Kemer Cantarelli Surely the first of a long series carrying the insignia of thrash death as seminal and evil as possible.
