the irony

formed in 2005 while at college together, "the irony" are a 4 piece guitar band playing melodic modern retro rock. they are a fusion of the old and the new with each members' influences, from the 70s to the now, being heard in the end result... all are at present living in scotland although 2 members are english and 2 scottish. peter lives in dunoon, craig in kincardine, and ian and paul live in paisley. all of these places are no more than an hour away from glasgow where the band can be heard playing most often... all were born on the same day..31st december 1980 making them all 25 years of age... all are presently single and childless...the band name comes as a result of an acronym taken from a line in a marillion song-see headline tag above and website details below---shortened to a more pithy and succinct and therefore more easily chantable moniker
