BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Slovakia, Petra Jordan started writing her songs around the age of 15. In high school, she spent a year in the US, where she started working with music workstations, toured the East Coast with a choir, and sang in a musical. After returning to Slovakia, she played and sang with local bands in her hometown Kosice, and eventually recorded her first demo album in 2001. Shortly after, “Down By The Water“, one of the demo songs, came 2nd in a nationally broadcasted U.S.Steel Talent Night.
In 2001, she left Slovakia to live and work in Germany, Kuwait, Greece, and eventually arrived in Belgium in 2003. During that time, under the name "Petra K.", her songs enjoyed a “virtual†success in the charts of Besonic.com, as well as numerous reviews on the internet.
In 2002, the song “City at Night†entered Unisong (International Song Contest www.unisong.com) and made it to the top 10% of over 4000 entries from around the world.
Between 2004 and 2006 she played with Andy Smeets (keyboards), Bart Pejs (bass) and Gil Kamphuis (drums) from the Netherlands and recorded demos with Tomi Benes (drums), Kolja (bass), Rado Chrzan (bass) from Slovakia.
In 2007, she started studying with jazz pianist/composer Hans Lamal and at the close of 2008 she formed a band for upcoming concerts and album work.
