Dave the Roadman

About Me

Dave bought his first guitar at the age of 17 and has spent the last 40 years pursuing his love of folk music. During that time he has accumulated a vast collections of stories and songs about his life on the road. For the last 20 years Dave has traveled around the country attending festivals and selling leather goods. In his travels, he has had the opportunity to meet and play with many extraordinary performers. Playing mostly informal gatherings around the campfire, Dave only recently started performing for an audienceFrom folksy tunes about his childhood in the Pennsylvania farmland, to the stories drawn from his experiences on the road, Dave continues to weave a story about life on the road. Not your typical Delta blues slide player, Dave combines Scruggs style picking with bluegrass licks to give his slide playing a unique flavor that is different from most players. His story songs reflect his life on the road. With winter setting in Dave is holed up back at the farm with plenty of time to work on new songs. Most of the time is spent playing music, making new friends, and reconnecting with old ones. It won't be long until he is back on the road.

Broken people

Sometimes we just find them.  They seem to be attracted to the family of friends that we have.  The discussions go on late into the night, but they are safe and they know it.  We make no distinctions,...

Everything Bounces

Feelings

How many times have we been told to express our feelings only to have them come around to bite us in the ass.  I am tired of people that encourage you to express yourself but don't really want to hear...
