Add to My Profile | More VideosArlan has been playing keyboard instruments since the age of three, and performing in public since five. His primary music education started in church, and by listening to recordings of Patsy Cline, Jerry Lewis, and Deep Purple. Country bands earned Arlan steady in come in his early teens, combined with church organist duties and classic rock bands. In college Arlan studied music synthesis and recording engineering, and was introduced to jazz by big band arranger Tom Kubis. Arlans dedication to music quality, versatility, instrument tone, improvisation, and experimentation, would lead him to play with thousands of musicians in concert and recording environments at locations around the world. Sharing music that evokes emotion...that's what I enjoy the most. "I am a product of my musical environment and my playing has become what it is because of those I've been so fortunate so share music with." A constant composer, Arlan specializes in improvised composition (writing songs and music on the spot ). "If I just stop and listen for a moment I hear music in my head, and there is music all around us...the music of life." Directly Influenced by collaborations with: Mandrill, The Pointer Sisters, The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Montreux Jazz Festival, USO Sec. Def. Tour 2000, Richie Kotzen, James Gadson, Burning Man and unfiltered honey. Currently leading all stars ensembles in the LA area for performance and recording events.
