About Me

Buzzville Records was launched in 2000 by a couple of guys that liked rock ‘n’ roll and worked together at Spin City magazine (at that time the main rock/metal magazine in Belgium). The label-idea had been mentioned a couple of times earlier, most likely after a couple – or (way) more - beers. With an article in Spin City magazine about stonerrock, the ball started rolling. One band complained they had recorded a killer album, but couldn’t find a label to support their release. Half a year later “A Trip To The Stonehenge Colony” of Belgian groove rockers Cowboys & Aliens was released. The rest is – like the cliché says – history. Although Buzzville didn’t limit itself and released alternative metal (“Glitch” of The SemiTones) and female fronted gothic rock (“Guilty Water” and “Sign Of Devotion” of Sengir), it was mainly 70ies/stoner/fuzz-rock that became the main target audience for the Buzzville bands and releases. But there’s more than ‘just’ cds. In 2005 the label started with its annual stonerrock-festival Buzzfest (with bands on the posters like e.g. Dozer, Generous Maria, Brant Bjork & The Bros, Monkey3, Hypnos 69, Cortez, …). In 2007 the label launched its own beer brand with the infamous Buzzville Blond, a very tasteful and (obvious) blond beer with 6% of alcohol that is brewed in one of the smallest breweries in the West part of Belgium. The cool beer bottle label was designed by the French pin-up/poster/artwork artist David Vicente.
