I am here for Friends

About Me

I currently reside in Lancaster, which is shite. (unless you are coming to see me, dont fucking bother) but I am from the town of Darlington on the other side of the pennines. I know, I know, I've turned into a dirty southerner. Currently in my fourth year of a four year degree course in Teacher Training specialising in Special Educational Needs. (This is instead of being an english or art teacher.) SEN is to me, fulfilling, interesting and challenging. It makes me feel that I will actually be making a difference to peoples lives, hopefully a positive one! I will be working in a classroom for at least three years after I graduate next year, and then I am curently hoping to go abroad and do my Voluntary Service Overseas, teaching in third world countries for rent and food. Teaching a class of middle class white children in Blackpool is one thing, but I really feel a drive to get out into areas which are struggling and do what I can to help out. I believe that the way resources, opportunities and power are allocated in this world is very wrong and unfair. But that is my current plan. Goodness knows what will happen. Isn't that the point?I have a wonderful boyfriend, who I am utterly devoted to, and we share a dinky little house on the top of the hill next to the uni I am studing at.I am a hippy, a punk, a dirty mettaller, a goth, a painter, an artist, a writer, a dreamer, a teacher, a shop assistant, a snake handler, this list can grow and grow but it will never describe me.For I Am Val. Roar!

My Interests

I love films. I love films that are well made. That are well shot, well lit, well scripted and well acted. I love music which isn't shit. I play World of Warcraft WAAAAAY to much ;) I love my three corn snakes, Dru, Andariel and Honey And my most recent addition, a king snake called Pent. not the best name for a snake maybe, but he has 5 dice spots on his head, and he is a angry pent up little bugger :) I love the countryside, the seaside and sunsets, stars and moons and clouds. But most of all, I love Guinness

I'd like to meet:

Fred Astaire, Chris Cornell, Aerosmith, Terry Pratchett, Stephen Fry, Kerry King, Kevin Spacey, and most of my World of Warcraft Guild hehe. Bruce Willis *purr*

Music:

Metal. Punk. (some)Cock Rock. dont mind some Drum and Bass but it has to be really really good before I can sit in my house and listen to it. In the order they popped out:Pantera, Aerosmith, Sepultura, Roxette, Portishead, Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Paradise Lost, Extreme, Venom, Morcheeba, Bob Dylan, Roni Size, Rolling Stones, Lightyear, Stiff Little Fingers, Sham 69, Mettallica, Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Swellbellys, Temple of the Dog, Soulfly, Janis Joplin, T-Rex, Apex Twin, Lamb, En Vougue, Slow Gherkin, Cream, Queen, Assert, Capdown, Auf Der Maur, Tool, A perfect Circle,RHCP, RAtM, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Coal Chamber, etcetcI don't know why I like stuff I just like stuff that I do. If it hits me in the right place its amazing. but if it doesn't I never want to hear it again. Listening to local radio at work kills me each night. Why is their so much shite out there? Why?

Movies:

Fred Astaire is a genius. I love Marilyn Monroe. I adore Bruce Willis.(mmm....Brucey...) Quentin Tarentino-What a guy! Kevin Spacey-Wow. Samuel.L.Jackson, Morgen Freeman, Brad Pitt has grown on me but only because he has made so many damn good films, still think he's an ugly motherfucker. If it isn't a chick flick or a teen movie, or another fucking period drama I don't mind it.Top Ten as I Think of Them Right Now in No Order: Leon, Hero, I Am Sam, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes(mmm Jane Russell), Die Hard x3 (Don't make me choose!) Pulp Fiction (but it is), Twelve Monkeys, Seven, K-PAX, Shall We Dance (original, not this new one)

Television:

aka The Idiot Box (The only thing i HAVE to watch is Neighbours!)

Books:

The Bell Jar. I like classic literature. I read Jane Erye when I was nine years old, and it is still one of my favourites. Terry Pratcett is, and will always will be, The Man. Neil Gaiman rocks. Catcher in the Rye, Dick Francis is a fantastic author. LotRings, Narnia, A. Huxley and George Orwell I both like, Antony Horowitz is great, Yes I do like Harry Potter, Henry Winkler, (aka The Fonz) has written my favourtie childrens books of all time, they are really worth it- hilarious! 'I Got a D in Salami' and 'Niagra Falls, or Does it?' if you ever see them read em. Books rule

Heroes:

People who actualy give a shit, and then act on it. Not people who whinge about how wrong things and people are and then sit there eating chips.
