Natural Roots originated in New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga and Utah. Jan "Mailevai"van der Beek, Esi Lautaimi and Samo Aiono started the band in September of 2004. Thanks to Yami Vakapuna, Fred Taholo, Arlene Lindsey and Pauline Mili for their contributions to Natural Roots as original band members.
