Born and raised in Queens, NY, DJ Status has always had an apparent knack for making music. Early on he developed his skills as a DJ, and later would begin producing his own music. A skillful musician, capable of playing guitar, piano, and drums, his progression as a producer came quickly. He applied his musical know-how to producing hip hop tracks and came up with a winning formula that was destined for success. Soon he became noticed by many, and shortly established a solid reputation as a truly astounding instrumentalist.After graduating the Institute of Audio Research (01), and with job opportunities from major companies, he elected to go independent to better express his creative visions and ambitions. He designed, constructed, and now runs Attic Sounds Recording Studio in Brooklyn, NY. Being a certified audio engineer only strengthens his musical production abilities. He possesses a style that is unparalleled by clashing classic boom-bap drums sounds and cutting-edge innovative musical melodies. His style is very versatile and he is just as comfortable chopping samples as he is playing out an entire original composition.As an independent producer and the owner of a growing production company and recording studio he has secured himself a position for a long time to come. He is creative and innovative, with a skill for transforming normally bland samples into intricate hip-hop beats. Fueled by an ever-growing passion for music, he spends countless hours in the studio constantly mastering his craft. A true perfectionist, Price is proficient at everything from laying a drum pattern on an MPC 1000 to manning a 48 track mixing console. He got his first taste for the game at college in South Florida. He went on to performing at many nightclub venues from West Palm Beach to Miami Beach. It wasnt until his return to Brooklyn in 2003 that he decided to add producing to his repertoire. Shortly after, he began to shine as a dope producer and skilled engineer.
