About Me

I got my layout from
I began playing the flute at the age of 11 and was taught by Nicky Russell until I was 18. During this time I was principal flute in Avon School's Symphonic Windband, played in Flutes Galore and Bristol Chamber Music Club. At the age of 18 I moved to Cardiff to study music at Cardiff uni. There I had lessons with Roger Armstrong (Emerald Ensemble). Achievements at uni include playing in the Contemporary Music Ensemble under Anthony Powers and playing the Cimarosa Concerto for two flutes as a concerto finalist. In 1999-2001 I was a member of South Wales Sinfonia and performed Debussy's 'Prelude...' Since then I have been involved in many projects, including the live drum 'n bass band Jampilot, the flute quintet No Strings Attached and folk band Mandelinky. I currently also teach music in inner city Bristol. Most recent projects include working with fantastic Bristol based Canola Tenderfoot, the gorgeous Andi James and the unique Giallos Flame.
