Le Bigstuf

About Me

Born in June 2003 and based in Paris France, Bigstuf is very serious when it claims it is not serious. This cute yet loud trio has no problem with absurdity or acting as if they forgot their brain in a tanning salon. But Bigstuf also considers it is fun being in a bad mood. Just Imagine having 10 ducks following you around all day for the rest of your life, sometimes it would be fun but it would always be pretty noisy. That’s how Bigstuf feels. By materializing this feeling Bigstuf serves you a dish of scary yet comforting, delicious yet disturbing lyrics on a massive bed of power punk rythms and raw instrumentals. And don’t forget a sideorder of new wave and no brain rock.
Who is Bigstuf?
David, 26, guitarist, has already written 22 albums but refuses to let anyone listen to them. In his hometown of Paris (France) he is known for his hospitality but also for playing with bands such as The Problematic Haircuts, Speel and David Haircut Ltd. In his free time he enjoys a soothing hot bath while listening to the Ramones, Pixies, Blur and the White Stripes.
Jerome, 28, drummer, represents the darker side of this band. Dressing in black is more than a fashion statement for him. When asked what color a pink bear is he will answer black. He enjoys doing nothing but comes to life behind the drums, his only reason to live. His influences include Radiohead, Nirvana and Jane’s Addiction.
Alexander, 29, bassist/singer, spends his time laughing out loud sometimes with a French accent, sometimes with an American accent. Formerly bassist of Washington D.C. based Rockmastergeneral, Alexander came to Paris to flee the Bush administration. In love with punk and loud rock he will smile when listening to Blues Explosion, No means No, Queens of the Stone Age but also Stereolab and The Clash.
What does Bigstuf talk about?
Bigstuf sings about pink Bears who listen to the radio, dirty politicians who thrive on glory, addiction to sex, carrots, drugs, pancakes, girls who love boys who love boys etc… We might scream pretty loud but we are harmless!
After recording their single in October 2003 and being featured on the cult late night French show “Paris Derniere”, Bigstuf went on to record a 5 song demo. In 2006 Bigstuf recorded a whole new set of songs which are going to be released in 2007.
