WHERE WE COME FROM
The Hollywood United Football Club was founded in the 1980s by a group of British expatriates who frequented the Cat & Fiddle, an English-style pub on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood. Playing the “beautiful game†in the morning and enjoying a pint at the pub in the afternoon became the perfect way to spend Sundays in Southern California.
The ex-pats came to enhance their entertainment career in Hollywood. But whether their careers were in music, TV or movies, they all had one thing in common, an unyielding passion for the game. Word eventually spread throughout the entertainment world about the club and its players. Soon, not only other well-known stars, but also former national team soccer players from around the world asked to join.
From these humble beginnings 20 years ago the Hollywood United Football Club has grown into what it is today; a star-studded world famous soccer club.
WHO WE ARE
Hollywood United Football Club has several teams competing year-round in various leagues throughout Southern California. All teams have a strong camaraderie and a spirit of brotherhood, which has helped Hollywood United Football Club grow to more than 90 players.
Hollywood United Football Club features players that have competed in numerous World Cups, walked the red carpet and played music in front of thousands of screaming fans . But on the pitch – whether the Emmy award winner for dramatic acting, lead singer of a well known rock band, director of movies or World Cup winner…we are united as soccer players.
We are friends. We are family. We are Hollywood United Football Club

TEAMS The Early Years 1992 - 2003
Hollywood United basically had one team that competed in different sunday leagues around Los Angeles including the Los Angeles Metro League and the Glendale League. It was loosely organized and was roughly the same 20 players that played in all games. What was unique is the players sometimes included Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury (The Cult), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) Robbie Williams, and others.
2003-2007
There were two Hollywood United teams. An over 30 squad that competed at Crossroads HS, Santa Monica, CA in the LA Premier League (2003 - 2005) and the now defunct Olympic Soccer League (2005-2006) and a Sunday league team that comprised of the older players that did not want to compete with the younger players. The over 30 team entered thier first tournaments in San Diego and Santa Barbara summer 2005 lifting the cup in both.
The over 30 team started to get some notoriety when players like Anthony LaPaglia, John Harkes, Frank Leboef, Alexi Lalas, and Paul Bravo would show up regularly. Soon there was 25-30 players on roster so talk started of creating more teams.
