About Me

Ambitious and practical Capricorn Woman who loves to laugh! I'm also a Geek. I'm sick of being in school, but i'm determined to finish! This world usually doesn't seem to fit very well, but i keep putting it on and braving the little Universe i am currently living in. Sometimes it fits perfectly and "i'm thinkin it's a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned" (i love this song by Iron and Wine...but M&M's is now using it in a commercial...not sure how i feel about that...it's kinda like Nick Dake and minivans...just something terribly wrong about it...)

My Interests

Swimming, child development and psychology, education reformation, studying anatomy for my massage therapy practice (certified and Strictly legitimate) , world travel, Rennaissance Faire, The World of Froud, fabulous hiking trails, pretending i can surf, drawing, sculpting ...spending quality time with my Nephew, and my Topanga Tribe....

I'd like to meet:

Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, Jim Henson, Jubal Harshaw, my future babies, and people who are interesting, genuine, and can laugh at themselves - you grok

Music:

jazz, jazz, jazz, bossa nova, latin jazz, some soundtracks; the original Godzilla, Cinema Paradiso, Amelie, Chicago, Willy Wonka, Natural Born Killers, and others...Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (of course), Dakah (the only 50...or is it 60 now...piece Hip-Hop-Orchestra worth seeing), OutKast, Peggy Lee, Astrud Gilberto, Bunbury, Cowboy Junkies, Chris Pierce, Maimou, F. Zappa, Primus, Bowie, Norah Jones and The Handsome Band, Amos Lee, Madeleine Peyroux, Iron and Wine, Joni Mitchell, ....I'm a music junkie... Coldplay, Moby, Bjork, Ben Taylor, Joe Karnes bass playing, Peter Thorn's guitare playing, Buena Vista Social Club, Dave Brubeck, Rev Horton Heat, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday, Dead Can Dance, Vivaldi, Bach, Bethoven, Madness, Bloodhound Gang, Ella and Duke, Gorillaz....etc, etc...etc.....music feeds the soul...i love it if it's good, pure, raw, real......though, pop crap generated for the masses bores my senses and blackens my mind and i pity those who are sucked into such black holes....

Movies:

The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Legend, Willow, Princess Bride, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, LOTR trilogy, the Harry Potter movies, Grease, Say Anything, Breakfast Club, Amelie, Cinema Paradiso (both the first and the extended versions), the original Superman movies, the Indiana Jones trilogy, Somewhere In Time, 3.14 (the pie symbol), Rocky Horror, Being John Malkovitch, Stranger Than Fiction, Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Wall, Donnie Darko, Sin City, Momento, South Park the movie, etc...etc...etc...i love good movies...and some bad ones, too...

Television:

I didn't watch TV much...but then i lived with roomates whoe wanted cable... Sci-Fi, National Geographic, Discovery, Comedy Central...it's the worst thing to happen to me! TV is evil and i need to never ever own one! Curse this little but functional box of mine! When i could be outside i end up sitting in front of that box while it chatters away at me, telling me what to think, what to wear, how to build a house in less than a week, and how many other things i could be doing with my life other than sitting there doing nothing when i should be hiking but i'm just watching... kill your TV...then come over and kill mine...PLEASE!!!???!!!

Books:

100 Years of Solitude, Stranger in a Strange Land, Jitterbug Perfume, Bodymind, Faeries, all of Brian Froud's books, In Patagonia i haven't read much other than text books lately...and any and all anatomy books...esp meat books! (those are anatomy books with photos of real human cadavers...looks just like meat...why am i craving a huge turkey leg from the Renn Faire...?...)...and i love David Sedaris! though i prefer to listen to him read his own work more than read it myself.

Heroes:

Wonder Woman, FIRE FIGHTERS
