About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Yup, you've found me. My name is Robin F. I'm one of those ancient rockers who refuse to grow up.
I'm what they call a "lifer" in the Navy. Been in for about . . . a long time. I plan to retire at 20 years. I'm an Electronics Tech, which means that I get paid to shock myself. I'm using all of that "technical expertise" that the Navy gave me to push the technical aspect of my passion forward - Music!
As a guitar player, I've found my home with PRS guitars. I presently have 5. The first one is a Scarlet red CE22 with birds and a Graphtech Ghost Piezo system. The background image for my myspace page is of the top of that guitar.
I also have a Platinum Metallic Tremonti SE, which is my main travel guitar. It has a #9 (Dragon 2000) neck pickup and a Dragon I lead pickup. I'm endorsed by TonePros , so the guitar is equipped with an AVT II tailpiece and locking studs.
Next is my Royal Blue McCarty model. The only thing I've done is install a pair of TonePros locking studs. It's strung up with Webstrings 9-46. It's the main guitar I use on the worship team at church.
Then there's my Dark Cherryburst Singlecut Trem. I installed a Graphtech Ghost Piezo system on it. I'm also endorsed by WB pickups . This guitar has a set of their Firewater's on it. It really brings the punk! I also use this guitar a lot when I play on the Worship team at church.
Lastly is my brand new Emerald Green Singlecut 250 with a 10 top and Birds. It's strung up with Webstrings 13-56, tuned B-B and it's just amazing. Check out my blog and pictures pages for more on it.
My main guitar amp is a 3 channel Mesa Dual Rectifier. I run EL-34's and THD Yellowjackets (Class A EL-84's) in it, which gives it a very aggressive vintagy vibe.
I guess I should add that I've been getting into modding and building tube amps over the last year. My number two amp is my first build. It's a two channel 18 watt all tube head that's based on the Marshall Tremolo, but this one has the tremolo circuit removed and a Plexi style tone stack in its place. It's powered by three 12AX7's and a pair of EL-84's. It has a very Hiwatty kind of look and sound. It's my main amp for use on the Worship Team at Church. I love it!
My latest build is a 15 watt Single ended head that's based on a Marshall 2204. It has a couple of 12AX7's and a single EL-34. It's a one trick pony, but it does that one trick VERY well! I have a few more ideas that I'm gonna be working on really soon.
For cabinets, I have a Marshall 1960 A and B cab, each with two Celestion Vintage 30's and two Greenbacks. I also have an Avatar Vintage 1x12 cabinet with a Celestion Vintage 30 that I use when I play on the worship team at church.
I'm not majorly into effects, but I have a TC Electronics Nova Digital Delay, a Rocktron Vertigo vibe and a Crybaby Wah that have been integrated into a custom switching unit. My favorite effect is the 'Trem-o-drive' tube powered booster/tremolo pedal that I built for myself. It just rocks my world. I also have a modded version of the Ibanez TS9 that I built myself and a few old Danelectro effects that I toss in every once in a while. Top it all off with a Sennheiser Evolution G2 wireless system.
For basses, I used a Spector NS-2000/4 and a Warwick Corvette Standard/active. SWR Workingman 160 and WorkingPro 400 heads provided the power to Avatar B212 and B210 cabinets.
Did I mention that I also play drums? I have a Tama Rockstar Custom 5 piece kit in Custom Caramel Fade finish. My cymbals are Sabian B8Pro and XS20's with a Wuhan China type and Farberware aluminum pot lid. Vic Firth sticks and Aquarian heads add the finishing touches.
