Chris Stapleton grew up the son of a coal miner in the Appalachian foothills of Paintsville, Kentucky. After graduating high school, he spent about five years searching for something resembling a life direction. He started (and quit) 2 different colleges, delivered pizzas, tried to play bluegrass, drove an ice truck, sold cars and wore out his welcome on a buddies couch before finally moving to Nashville in October of 2001. Since then, he has evolved into one of Nashville music scenes hottest and most well respected young writers. He has had more than 50 songs recorded including the title cut on Lee Ann Womacks CMA album of the year Theres More Where That Came From and Josh Turners number 1 single Your Man.
