The thrash-metal band FEAR TRADERS was born in 1999 in Cortona (Arezzo, Italy). The original line-up was composed by Francesco Riganelli (lead guitar), Alessio Berretta (rhythm guitar), Francesco Antolini (bass), Marco Milloni (drums) and Emanuele Bernardini (vocals). The band (stable up to 2001) began to compose riper songs than the first works, thanks also to a general technical improvement. At the same time Fear Traders increased their live activity taking part in some festivals and contests, obtaining a great notoriety in the middle of Italy. In this period songs like Dressed in Black, Soul Outstanding and Glasswall (inserted together with Judgement Day in the first demo-album) were composed; however some stylistic divergences and the technical limits of Alessio and Emanuele began to emerge. Despite this fact, Fear Traders performed in good exhibitions during summer 2001 and released their first 4track album "Dressed in Black" in 2002. This work was positively acclaimed by press, creating a big audience in the band, which was invited in some radio broadcasts to promote the first cd ever. In February 2003, after searching for new musicians during the early months of the year, the band rebuilt the line-up with two new members: Francesco Sartini (rhythm guitar) and Giulio Grassini (vocals). The introduction of Francesco and Giulio marked a stylistic change for Fear Traders; sonorities evolved toward an aggressive and incisive thrash-metal based on heavy riff and pressing rhythmics, with the help of Francesco (bass) as second voice. Unfortunately stylistic divergences grew up again between the band and the new singer, quickly bringing to a consensual split. In the beginning of 2004 Alessio Severini (coming from himself power-prog project Holy World) joined the band as new singer and during the autumn Fear Traders finally began to record their first full-lenght album "Obsession" at Francesco Riganelli's BPA studios. This self-produced release, out in May 2005, recieved very good feedbacks from italian and european webzines (jump to our REVIEWS section for read'em); Under My Aggression was also included in "Heavy Metal Rendez Vous vol. 2" compilation, produced by LM RECORDS . On December 2005 Marco Milloni, one of the founder members with F.Antolini and F.Riganelli, left the band. He was replaced in January 2006 by Luca Paparelli, ex-Almavenus, actually in Human Cluster and such others umbrian rock/metal bands drummer. Actually Fear Traders (now with a 4 members line-up) are playing many shows in middle-Italy with other italian metal bands, while the work on new material is already begun.

I FEAR TRADERS, metal band di Cortona (AR), nascono nel 1999 dalle ceneri degli Hellfire. La formazione originale è composta da Francesco Riganelli (chitarra solista), Alessio Berretta (chitarra ritmica), Francesco Antolini (basso), Marco Milloni (batteria) ed Emanuele Bernardini (voce). La band con questa formazione, stabile fino al 2001, inizia a comporre brani più maturi rispetto alle produzioni precedenti, grazie anche ad un generale miglioramento tecnico. Contemporaneamente intensifica l’attività live con molte partecipazioni a festival e concorsi, riuscendo così ad acquisire una certa notorietà nelle province di Arezzo e di Perugia. Grazie a ciò i Fear Traders riescono ad esibirsi in buone perfomances live nell’estate del 2001 e a realizzare nel 2002 il primo 4-tracks demo "Dressed in Black", che viene accolto positivamente dalla critica ed i Fear Traders vengono invitati ad alcune trasmissioni radiofoniche per presentare il loro lavoro. Nel Febbraio 2003 c'è il primo cambio di line-up, con Francesco Sartini alla chitarra ritmica e Giulio Grassini alla voce, già militante in alcune metal bands nel perugino (Tanelorn e Nepenthe). L’introduzione di Francesco e Giulio segna una svolta stilistica per i Fear Traders: con la nuova formazione le sonorità si evolvono verso un thrash-metal aggressivo ed incisivo caratterizzato da riff serrati, ritmiche incalzanti e dal contributo di Francesco (basso) come seconda voce. Purtroppo nuovamente emergono divergenze stilistiche tra la band ed il nuovo cantante, che conducono in breve ad una “separazione consensualeâ€. All’inizio del 2004 viene reclutato dietro al microfono Alessio Severini (autore anche del progetto power-prog “Holy Worldâ€), con cui finalmente i Fear Traders, durante l’autunno, iniziano a registrare il full-lenght "Obsession" presso il BPA studio di Francesco Riganelli. Il cd, contenente 11 tracce, viene completato all’inizio di Giugno 2005 e viene accolto positivamente dalla critica nazionale ed estera (trovate qui le recensioni). Inoltre, il brano Under My Aggression viene inserito nella compilation “Heavy Metal Rendez Vous vol. 2â€, prodotta dalla LM RECORDS . Nel Dicembre 2005 i Fear Traders vedono uscire dalla loro line-up il batterista Marco Milloni, che insieme a Riganelli ed Antolini era stato uno dei founder-members del gruppo. Al suo posto nel Gennaio 2006 viene chiamato Luca Paparelli, ex-batterista di Almavenus e di altre formazioni rock/metal dell’ambiente perugino. La band è ora impegnata sul fronte live in svariati locali del centro Italia, mentre in sala prove è iniziata la stesura dei nuovi brani per il prossimo lavoro discografico.
