My name is Steve Mazan and I am a stand-up comic. In 2005 I was diagnosed with incurable liver cancer and given a worst-case scenario of five years to live. Now I am confident that I will beat the odds, but in facing my mortality I've decided to turn up the heat on my dreams.I have always wanted to perform on David Letterman's show, and was confident I one day would. However, with the recent diagnosis I wondered if I had enough time to get there in the usual manner. So I've decided to pull out all the stops and try and get on Letterman by the end of 2006. Besides reaching my dream, I'm hoping that my trek inspires others to chase their own dreams, and to show everyone a new face of cancer---that of someone living with cancer, rather than dying from it.I will be documenting my progress, setbacks, and adventures along the way in a documentary film called "DyingTo Do Letterman"I have a website for the project where you can learn more and even help out.
