About Me

I had my first encounter with music business when I was 12 years old. One of our neighbours, a classical concert promoter, needed someone to turn the pages at a classical piano concert at the local community concert place. As I had classical piano lessons, he assumed I could read music and therefore could do the job. At the concert, I had to sit left to the piano player, a somewhat nervous, small middelaged woman. The Concert starts, and I do my best to read the notes with the pianist playing the piece. At the 3rd page, first repeat sign - now I was supposed to turn the pages back to the first one - I totally lost it. While playing, the pianist was frantically trying to get to the right page of the score and hissing something ugly in my direction. Of course she fucked up the tune big time. The remaining 20 minutes I just sat next to the woman playing (and turning the pages herself) trying not to show my tears. I got 10 DM after the show and felt terrible. This turned out to be the worst gig in the 26 years to follow. After that it went all upward: I took Jazz Piano lessons, played in countless bands all kinds of different music styles. Hardbop, Free Jazz, Salsa, Pop, Rock, Funk, Fusion, Latin Jazz. First in my hometown Munich, then I moved to Holland to go to the Hilversums Conservatory. I had a great time there (also after school...), learnt more about Jazz music then ... electronic music came. Bought my first Atari, S900 and Korg M1. Started in 94 with New Cool Collective. Today I play, compose, produce mainly for my band Zuco 103.
