About Me

Coventry Music Network is an organisation that was set up in 2005. The aims of The CMN are to provide a platform for all artists and musicians to help promote themselves to the wider world. We provide training for young people to help them enjoy and participate in music and demonstrate the many aspects of the music industry in general to them, many of the younger people come from under privileged backgrounds and probably do not realise their full potential and what could be available to them as they develop their minds for the future, as many schools now have very little funding for music. We will be offering tutor training for local musicians to work with children in music through after school and youth clubs.We also will be offering all aspects of training connected to the music business to help musicians develop their careers further. Many artists and bands are excellent at what they do musically, but lack the business skills needed to sell and promote themselves outside of friends and family. We also provide a larger voice when mediating with local government, raising concerns that our local musicians and venues may have and we bridge the gap between the two. By providing the Coventry and Warwickshire music scene with one voice, results in better communication between each other, promoters, venues and local government.

We also work closely with The Birmingham Music Network.

A big well done to all the bands going through and also a big thank you and well done to all the bands that took part in this event, it was a tough call and if we had the places we would have loved to have had you all on the stage at Godiva.

Right the competition is still not over for the 8 bands selected to play Godiva. There is the main stage slot that is up for grabs and this will be decided by public vote through The Coventry Evening Telegraph and BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Radio, the public will be voting through The BBC website as to who they want to see on the main stage and the winners will also recieve a free video shoot curtesy of The BBC and their demo handed over to the Steve Lemacq Show on Radio 1. but for more info on this click HERE

CMN News All bands that wish to take part in the BOTB for The Godiva Festival needs a from to enter your band. I can email forms to you if you supply me with an email address. The Criteria for the bands is that you need to be an original band and are based in Coventry & Warwickshire.

If youd like to get your tracks on our playout system
1. Send us your high quality MP3 tracks via email to [email protected] (ensure that no single email is larger than 10MB).
2. Send us your CD to Music Department, The Hillz Radio, 12 Victoria Street, Hillfields, Coventry, West Midlands, CV1 5LZ.

Please note than we only play radio edits that means tracks must contain no swearing or be suitably edited. If you are unable to edit your tracks, please indicate if the track contains swearing and well try to edit it for you.

We play all styles of music so dont be shy! Please note we are also PRS, MCPS and PPL licensed.

We intend to enable artists/bands/performers so get involved in undertaking interviews and acoustic/live sets. If youd like to be interviewed on air, please drop us an email so we can start to include you on the running order of particular shows.
