You are so indie it hurts. You hang out with the coolest people in your city. It doesn't even bother
you that none of them know your name. You know lots of bands personally, you know a couple of
guys from We Hate The Mainstream Records, and you blag your way into getting almost
everything for free. That fanzine you write gives you extra kudos. You probably don't
even care that non-scenesters think you're a pretentious fuck.
I used to be super pretentious about the music and books that other people liked. I'm not so much anymore, but I find it's a hard habit to break. I'm fairly easy going, I'm a nerd, I like mostly metal, punk, and indie music, I read mostly classic literature and have little use for anything published in the last 50 years, I'm working on a comic book with a buddy and one by myself, and I fall asleep praying for - and wake up continually without - huge, leathery bat wings. I'm a psychology major, going into child psychology and teaching, and I want to research better teaching methods and non-drug forms of dealing with attention and behavioral problems in kids. I work at my school in the computer lab, and that's about it. Anything else you wanna know, just ask.
