About Me

Would you join my email list? I won't hassle you. I'm no hassler. Plus you get access to free, previously unreleased mp3s. Now that's something you can shake a stick at.
His mother and father have described his music as “good.” His brother has also bought one of his CDs. His grandmother enjoys his music, but occasionally has trouble understanding the lyrics.
Who is this young troubadour, so moderately adored by his own family? It is none other than Zach Vinson. Hailing from the frigid tundra of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Vinson sweetly sings his indie pop-rock melodies to thaw frozen bodies, both his and yours. "In an era of pretentious rock stars, Mr. Vinson is a true treat--a down-to-earth, humble individual who seems truly unaware of his own brilliance," writes Vinson in the third person.
Both his mother and grandmother make casseroles that he thoroughly enjoys, in particular the one with the noodles, corn, hamburger, and cream of mushroom soup. But while his family is cooking up the dinner, Vinson is keeping busy mixing together another one of his delectable musical treats, letting all the ingredients simmer together to his liking before tossing it all in the oven and turning up the heat. Try a taste—you may not know quite how to explain the sensation, but you will certainly be back for more.
Vinson has had the honor of sharing the stage with the likes of Sleeping at Last, Ellery, the Tide, Bernard, Coolhand Luke, Farewell Flight, Vigilantes, Theodore, Cedarwell, Winter Took His Life, TaughtMe, Drew Danburry, and a distant relative of former NBA great Jack Sikma.

What people are saying about Zach and "Cracked Open":
"Zach Vinson generates musical sparks with deliciously inventive indie pop/rock in the mold of Ben Folds, but with distinctive hues. [...] I'm more than impressed."
--John Sinkevics, Grand Rapids Press
"'Cracked Open' is easily the best album this house has put out in years."
--Mat Churchill (Zach's roommate)
"From catchy guitar riffs and driving percussion to sections of slower piano, the album spans broad musical genres while remaining in a distinct style. [. . .] 'Cracked Open' is an excellent release for anyone who enjoys the limitless reach of indie music done well."
--The Herald, Grand Rapids, MI
"Zach Vinson has the personal dynamic of a heart-felt-heart-wrenching poet and quirky instrumentalist."
--Kate Krause (owner of Paradigm, Sheboygan, WI)
"Man, when you strum guitar, your right hand is poetry!"
--Tom Willett (Assistant Director of the Contemporary Music Center, former VP at Sony Music)
"'Christee Christee' [...] is further proof that there aren't any songs with girls names in the title that don't rule."
--WYCE 88.1, Grand Rapids, MI
"If Rufus Wainwright and Pete Yorn mated, Zach Vinson could be their vocal-stealing baby."
--Melissa Walther (WMSE 91.7 - Milwaukee)
"And you should hear him play the piano! Wow, what a gift! I love it when his hands are flying over the keys."
--Zach's Mom
