How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .GO AHEAD!. "the PROFIT$" want you to bet against them! Its that same street born confidence that keeps the Staten Island bred- Profit$ focused and determined. The Profit$ stands for Please Respect Others For Individual Talents. The Profit$ started in early 1999, when Port Richmond High School classmates, brothers Philip (Philly Blunts) and William Shpiller (Craze a.k.a Justin Gold), and Jeremy Bettis (J-Remy), hooked up and realized that they all shared the same making-music ambitions, and shared the same dreams of one day being major players in the music industry. Armed with only their voices, their creative minds, pens and pads, the Profit$ started making music out of a spot that would eventually become a second home to the Profit$...Phils basement. By late 1999, the Profit$ had their first six-track demo out. The Profit$ categorized their music as hip-pop, a creative blend of hip hop and pop music. In Port Richmond High School they were a big hit. Their first demo landed the Profit$ meetings at MCA Records and Elektra Records, where they were turned down, but offered lifelong advice, that they carried with them. At both record labels they were told to stay focused, and keep making music, because the potential was there. With that in mind, the Profit$ stayed on their grind, and kept making music. In early 2000, the Profit$ had their first live performance at club Pyramids in New York City. They brought the house down and ended up winning first place for an underground act.The Profit$ continuously worked on their music for the next two years, showcasing their demo to various labels, making a name for themselves on Staten Island, and in the process developed a pretty large fan base. But it was in the summer of 2002 when the Profit$ discovered the missing link to their group a 15 year old veteran. His name was William Walters, also known as (Yzark). He was considered the freestyling champion and the best songwriter in his neighborhood. Within two weeks, Yzark was an official member of the Profit$. He added a whole new level of confidence and energy to the group. The Profit$ now had a new member along with a whole new style which lead to better Song writing. However the Profit$ were not content with just being known on Staten Island. They wanted all of New York City to feel their music so they started circulating the clubs all the way from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Within four months, the Profit$ performed for the likes of Lillo Brancato (Collagero from A Bronx Tale), Eamon Doyle, and one of Wu-Tang Clans founding members, Raekwon.Currently the Profit$ are still making music and are as focused as ever. Philly Blunts has graduated from the Institute of Audio Research, making him a certified engineer/producer. Craze has attached himself to his computer, and has mastered the art of making beats. So far, he has produced two tracks for other underground artists. J-Remy is currently employed to G-Unit Radio Promotions for G-Unit Records at the world-famous Interscope Office (Home of Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Will Smith, and many more), where he works directly with music executives. Indeed the Profit$ epitomize the hustlers spirit. They all shared the same dream since day one and fast forward six years later, they are still chasing that dream at full speed. What makes the Profit$ so special and so unique is the four completely different personalities, the mix of two blacks as well as two caucasians and the unbreakable bond that is shared between them all. The Profit$ have been making music for six years now independently, and all they ask of their listeners is to Please Respect Others For Individual Talents. As you can also see by the thumbnail pic, Profits were recently featured (Track 16) on the "Industry Takeover" mixtape hosted by DJ Tommy Gunz, Lady T and WKNJ 90.3. Since Profits decided to part ways from Dave Park they have found their own roads to success and still remain focus till this day!
