I am excited about two new additions to my Grandma tree. My son and daughter-in-law are blessing me with two little angels a girl AND a boy! LOVE YOU SO MUCH, Gramdma :)
A little about me..... I was born in Texas, raised in the Texas Hill Country. We had many rivers, pecan bottoms, hills everywhere and Deer galore! It will always be my "home", but I live in Oklahoma and love this state too :) Daddy was a Texas Football Coach, and Momma worked at school also. Daddy was not one to try to get things by on, he would know what you were up to before you did! He was very strict, and everyone in the school knew when Coach Rice was anywhere in sight. He was well respected, strict and made men out of boys. Mom, well, she was the soft heart of our family. I remember all the home cooked meals every evening and the spotless house we had. Don't know how she kept up with us, but she did. I was the baby of the family and wouldn't trade that place for anything. So my childhood was awesome, I was the girl with S~P~I~R~I~T in the school. It was born in my blood. I will always be an EAGLE in my heart! I loved sports and loved to dance and twirl. Knew all the Yells and Loved Football!! When I was 17 I got married, yes, pretty young..... when I was 49 I became a widow. Now if you think I was the girl with the picket fence and all, just let me say there was a lot of happiness, heartache and sadness in those 32 years, but mostly happiness raising kids and watching them play sports and enjoy school. I knew I would have a cheerleader and a football player. And I did.... Randy was a nose guard and Ashley was a point guard :) Ashley was an All American Cheerleader and Randy was an All West Texas Footballer... I was blessed with two beautiful children, seeing them grow up, and marry. Now they are responsible adults, what more can a mother ask for :) They make me proud!! I have 5 beautiful grandchildren that range from 6 to 12. They love school and love to play ball :) Imagine that! They keep me young, going to their activities and keeping up with their lives. I try not to do things to abuse my mind and body! Would like to have a partner to dance into the golden years with....to love me, to receive my love and to enjoy the years ahead. But if that is not meant to be, I will be happy with living a good life by myself with my family and friends. I refuse to just sit and grow old :) Or settle for less :) I try to keep it simple, take care of myself and be kind to others.
