Keith Betti

About Me

Born and raised in Chicago, Keith Betti found his musical calling at the age of 18 when a guitar named “Stella” plopped in his lap. He quickly picked up on the instrument and within a year was playing live for the first time at Buddy Guy’s Legends as lead guitarist for the Old Town School of Folk Music’s Blues Ensemble.Keith quickly broke out of the blues scene determined to follow his influences into the pop rock world. He began to learn piano, voice, and how to write songs. Some basement demos lead to a start up band called The Embers. They made a short run and changed their name to KB with Keith taking on the lead role of singing, songwriting, and guitar.
In 2004, KB put out an album entitled “Prelude”. The album was refreshing to a lot of people and was well received.
“Prelude is an impressive collection of pop gems” Richard Milne 93.1 WXRT Local Anesthetic
The album was featured on CBS Morning News Chicago and received honorable mentions for local album of the year on 93.1 WXRT’s Local Anesthetic Show.
In 2007, Keith dropped the KB name and released “Nowhere to Be Now” in solo fashion. Today Keith performs with his band throughout Chicago with his main focus set on writing and recording. Plans are currently underway for a new 15 song release in 2009.
