Often referred to as "First Lady of South Carolina" because of her political and charitable involvement in her hometown, this councilwoman candidate was voted by The Ave Magazine as "One of the Most Significant Women In Entertainment," fans recall first being introduced to Dirrty Records Founder/CEO Lunden De'Leon as Joanne Mbutu on the hit television series Vital Signs. Years later, the former Swimsuit Illustrated model catapulted that breakout role into a successful career with quite an impressive track-record by creating a number of unforgettable performances and starring in over fifty movies and television shows like the 20th Century Fox Movie The Ladies Room, Surviving Paradise, Fury, Faux-Pas, Cryptz, the HBO award-winning film Kickin Chicken and the NBC hit comedy "Just Shoot Me." With a successful acting career under her belt, Lunden De'Leon went on to create and executive produce numerous independent films including the suspense thriller "Irrebuttable Presumption," "Undercover" and "Veronica's Secret."Hailed by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of America's Youngest Self-Made Millionaires and featured in Forbes, Marie Claire, Business Week, Women's Wall Street and many more, in fall 2003 Lunden opened the doors to her Los Angeles based record label Dirrty Records making headlines around the world as the first black woman to own a punk record label.Lunden's business ventures include Dirrty Records, Dirrty Records (South), 8 Ball Sports Bar, Voodoo Joint Music Publishing, Premiere Entertainment Group, Dirrty Films, Rock Junkie Clothing, Dirrty Bomb (marketing/brand management), Dirrty Crib Recording Studio and The Lunden De'Leon Foundation.In May 2004, Lunden was inducted into the Caribbean Hall of Fame alongside such legends as Bob Marley and Sidney Poitier. Known for her compassion, confidence and inspirational achievements, Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn issued a special proclamation declaring February 7th as Lunden De'Leon Day in the City of Los Angeles.
