Justin Morrissey And Friends

About Me

Justin Morrissey was born in rural Illinois in 1974 and raised in the Quad Cities by a Vietnam veteran father and a spiritually faith driven Pentecostal mother. He lives in Moline Illinois just up the street from the Mississippi river. The oldest of three, he started out playing drums, guitar, and writing songs while still in jr. high. Doing this for local and regional bands over the years, gaining in confidence while developing a unique voice within his own style. He holds a deep reverence for the tried and true sounds of the past by blending traditional melodies and instrumentation with lyrically emotional content stylistically rooted in folk, country, bluegrass, and rock. His band is an inter-changing mix of respected regional and local musicians. Playing in the heart of the midwest while finding the soul of their musical kinships and deepening friendships. Justin's producer is accomplished regional artist A.J. Steil of Galena Illinois, a multi-talented musician and singer/songwriter in his own right. The band is finished working on Justin's first full lenghth compact disc entitled "WAR OF WILLS" in downtown Galena at M-STUDIOS with A.J......the cd is now available at all live performances and all local Quad Cities COOP RECORDS, BORDERS BOOKS, and ICONOCLAST RECORDS. CD available online at CDBABY.COM @ http://cdbaby.com/cd/morrisseyjustin. Justin is currently writing and recording the songs for his second full length cd, soon to be titled and released.
