About Me

LAW SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Here comes I.Although I spent around $800 on my law books (oh god, shoot me now), I'm as excited as hell.Oh, and I'm still running, partying, and having a great time in general.THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!Not to mention that I saw Rufus Wainwright last weekend.... Fucking orgasmic is not even the right phrase. For all of you who haven't heard the "All Of Jacqueline's Heros Are Dead" speech... So yeah, all of my musical heros are dead. I will never, ever have a dialogue with Beethoven, or Mozart, or Verdi, or Wagner. That's the end of it.But Rufus.... He's like Verdi meets Wagner meets Judy Garland. He is my rising sun.Overly dramatic... Perhaps? But what else would you expect from the likes of me?... Those who know me well.I'm smart, opinionated, determined, and maybe a little too career-oriented. So sue me. I love my life.

My Interests

Running. Law, editorials, good conversation, travel (If I don't go to Vienna soon... I'll die), blogs on legal issues (Michael Dorf is my favorite), critique, wine/movies nights with my friends, Danielle (my dog), cultural anthropology, trombone, grammar lessons (giving, of course, darling... Why do so many people screw up adverbs?!), testing boundaries, volunteering, Palestine, feminism, cooking (and eating), bragging on my cooking, Seinfeld re-runs.

I'd like to meet:

You... Other brainiacs who take themselves entirely too seriously. Or not.

Music:

Verdi, Wagner, Beethoven, Rufus Wainright, Miles, Louis, Dizzy, Coltrane, Chet Baker, Beethoven, Schubert, Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Gershwin. Queen, Led Zep, The Fiery Furnaces, Pixies, Kinks, ad nauseum.

Movies:

I'm the world's worst film-buff. Don't be friends with me if you can't stand that... That said, I have one thing to say: MICHAEL HANAKE. My god. He changed everything for me. Other than that... Harold and Maude, Manhattan, Audition, nearly anything Hitchcock or Lynch or DPed by Alonzo.

Television:

Seinfeld, Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Books:

Law books (Yes, darling, I'm a tool). Frankenstein, Gertrude Stein, anything by Kafka, ivory-tower anthropology, biographies of late supreme court justices.

Heroes:

My mother. Jason. Dr. Rallis. Rufis.

My Blog

Errr, I mean HOUSTON, hello HOUSTON

The law school admissions scene shaped up very nicely for me.  Not only did I get accepted everywhere I applied, but I was surprised and thrilled to have a ton of scholarship offers at my do...

Hello, DENVER! Here I come!

About a month ago I applied to the University of Denver Sturm College of Law located, surprisingly, in Denver, Colorado.  I've since been accepted and offered an AMAZING $18,000 per year scholars...

Just in case there is any confusion...

I dislike the name "Jackie."  Please refrain from calling me "Jackie."  My parents tell me that, as a child, I would stomp my foot and exclaim, "My name is Jacqueline."  Funny how some ...
